Ali MacGraw

Ali MacGraw (Elizabeth Alice MacGraw) is a American animal rights activist, author also a model, actor and author. The actress has won praise by films such as Love Story (from 1970), Goodbye Columbus, (1969) as well as The Getaway, (1972). Her desire to be an artist was in part influenced by her family background in a New York family of artists. Her first job was as a photo assistant then turned to modeling and acting. MacGraw was noticed in her two first films and was awarded the Golden Globe Award for Most Popular newcomer. MacGraw was a household name in the year 1970 following her hit movie Love Story. She was considered for nomination to an Academy Award and won a Golden Globe. With just three releases MacGraw was named the top female box-office start worldwide. The handprints of her signature, as well as footprints were made in 1972 at the Grauman's Chinese Theater. Other films she has appeared in are The Getaway Convoy Players as well as the TV miniseries The Winds of War. Moving Pictures, a 1991 autobiography, of hers came out. MacGraw was divorced three times.
